The Digestive Disorders Foundation, Suffolk

The Digestive Disorders Foundation, Suffolk is a registered charity established in 1986 to raise funds to help our Suffolk hospitals in the research, treatment, cure and prevention of the many painful disorders of the gut.

What are Digestive Disorders?

There are many, such as ulcers, colorectal cancer, hiatus hernia and diverticulitis. All cause discomfort and pain and some can kill. Each year in the UK, more than 4 million people consult their doctors about such problems - 500,000 go into hospital and about 60,000 die of these diseases.

What Do We Do?

Our very active \'Friends of the DDF\' organise local fundraising activities, such as concerts, a garden party, book stalls, golf competitions, an evening of antiques and street or store collections. The Friends issue regular newsletters, which report on what has taken place and give details of future events. Everyone who wishes to become an active supporter will be warmly welcomed, as we rely solely on dedicated volunteers. We have virtually no expenses, other than postage and printing, so we proudly claim that every pound raised is spent in Suffolk.

Since we were formed we have raised over £200,000 to help the fine Endoscopy Suite at Ipswich Hospital and Bury St. Edmunds. We have paid for:
